Useful services

The Directory of Services was created in 2009 as part of a one year initiative to increase partnership working among agencies working with sex workers in the City of Edinburgh. It was published, along with a recommendations paper for commissioning future services, and was largely ignored.

We felt that the Directory had too much potential to be allowed to wither away. Our goal is to create a Directory that will be updated by the services themselves, and will cover the whole of Scotland.

If you are a female, male or transgender sex worker you can also sign up to the National Ugly Mugs (NUM) Pilot Scheme for FREE and receive warnings about dangerous individuals who are a threat to you. If you are a victim of a crime you can report this to NUM and they will use the information to warn other sex workers.  Find out about joining the National Ugly Mugs Scheme on their website here.

If you are aware of services that are either specific to sex workers or provide services to sex workers in a respectful and tolerant way, please voice [at] scot-pep [dot] org [dot] uk (subject: Services%20suggestion) (let us know).
